Winning races

Sue Gardner has enjoyed considerable success on the track over the past few years and the team have been improving their results season on season. This year, Sue Gardner was rated the Racing Post’s second most successful trainer in the country on 10 June 2012, which, although only a snapshot, is a phenomenal result considering the comparatively small size of the yard.

The rating came after Sue had sent out the first double of her training career at this year’s Worcester Festival of Racing weekend when Miss Saffron beat Paul Nicholls’ Minella Stars in the £11,000 novice chase, and Southway Star followed up in the conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle.

You can visit the Racing Post’s current evaluation of Sue’s performance by clicking here and selecting the “GB Jumps” options from the drop-down menu.

Sue and her team follow a well-rehearsed routine at each race meeting. The horses are handled by experienced staff which helps them to remain happy and calm, be it in the stable block, in the parade ring or at the start.
